Crafting Scholars Re-Opens — With Some Important Changes

Like many businesses, Crafting Scholars was forced to shut down its in-person services due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, we were able to launch some new online classes to support students in keeping up with grade-level skills. Now, as North Carolina begins to loosen restrictions on businesses, we are once again able to open up our center to students. However, we have put numerous changes in place to promote a safer environment.

Schedule Change

Beginning Tuesday, May 26, 2020, our center will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. We will not be offering Sunday sessions right now. In addition, the waiting area will remain closed, so please plan accordingly for your scheduled session. Only 10 people will be allowed in the center at a time.

In-Person Sessions

In accordance with CDC recommendations, our employees will wear masks when interacting with students and each other. Hand sanitizer will be readily available, and all work spaces will be cleaned and sanitized between sessions. All sessions will be spaced at least six feet apart as well to maintain safe distancing.

Online Sessions

We realize that some families may not feel comfortable venturing out to the center yet, and that is okay. We will continue to offer online classes in English, math, science, and history so that students can work remotely while still having their needs met. Students can also participate in online SAT tutoring to prepare for exams in the fall.

Test Prep

We are also continuing to offer baseline testing for the SAT and ACT, as well as our hybrid exam to help students decide which test they may be best suited for. Our team will drop the exam off at your home and then pick it back up once your student is finished. Their responses are evaluated to determine their strengths, weaknesses, and strategies used in order to create an effective approach for test preparation sessions. Once again, we offer both online and in person test prep for the SAT, and in-person prep for the ACT.

Flexibility

Your child’s health and safety is our number one concern, so please keep in mind that operations may change depending on guidance from the state and CDC. We are prepared to adjust accordingly and will keep you informed regarding any changes. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we navigate this ever-changing situation.

We are committed to supporting students with their academics and helping them to stay on track with learning. Our learning specialists are prepared to assist with curriculum content for a wide array of classes and grade levels. Sessions are tailored to your child’s individual needs and how they learn best. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or to schedule a session.
